About the LLSA CME Program

Starting with the 2006 Edition, use your LLSA exam result in lieu of a CME exam to get your CME certificate! See below for details.

The American Board of Emergency Medicine's Continuous Certification (LLSA) program requires the reading of 18 - 20 See what your colleagues have to say about the LLSA CME programdesignated articles each year. In order to maintain board-certification, Emergency Physicians must complete the annual Lifelong Learning Self-Assessment (LLSA) test on the ABEM website based upon the contents of these articles. A new LLSA test and associated reading list will be developed each year.

The EMedHome.com LLSA CME program is designed to easily help you access the 18 - 20 yearly articles, review and understand the material, and obtain CME credit in recognition of your educational effort - all over the internet, from any computer!

The EMedHome.com LLSA CME program contains:

Key Point Outlines of each of the 18-20 articles

We have outlined in an easy-to-review format the key concepts and facts from each of the ABEM-designated articles. Simply review the outlines to refresh the content of each article as you prepare for the on-line test and keep the outline handy as you take the LLSA exam. The outlines are in PDF format and located on the website. If you like, download the PDF outlines of all the articles with a single click!

Category 1 AMA/ACEP Credit

EMedHome.com is an approved provider of continuing medical education by the ACCME. In recognition of the effort required to read the articles, review the outlines, and complete our on-line CME exam you will receive 35 CME category 1 AMA credits. The EMedHome.com LLSA CME program is approved by the American College of Emergency Physicians for 35 hours of ACEP Category I credit.

Take as long as you like to complete the exam - EMedHome.com will remember where you left off. When you are done, obtain your CME certificate immediately on-line. There is no "pass-fail" requirement. If you answer a question incorrectly, you will be prompted with the relevant portion of the article text to allow you to answer it correctly and move on to the next question.

Starting with the 2006 Edition of the LLSA CME Program, you will have two options to obtain your CME certificate: (1) You may complete the self-assessment exam provided as part of the EMedHome.com LLSA CME Program and earn 35 Category 1 AMA/ACEP credits as explained above OR (2) Upon successful completion of the ABEM LLSA exam simply return to EMedHome.com to obtain your CME certificate. You will earn 30 Category 1 AMA/ACEP credits via this method. You do not need to complete the CME self-assessment exam on EMedHome.com to obtain your CME certificate, although you will certainly have access to it to help you prepare.

All of the above for only $69!
NEED THE ARTICLES?

For the 2005-2007 editions of the LLSA CME Program, EMedHome.com is pleased to make available a set of authorized reprints obtained directly from the publishers of the ABEM-designated articles for shipping directly to you (note: these are authorized reprints, not simply photo-copies). The nominal charge for the complete set is $86, which solely covers our costs of the reprints, associated permissions, and shipping & handling. Starting with the 2008 edition of the LLSA CME Program, we are no longer offering the option to purchase a set of publishers’ hard-copy reprints of the LLSA articles. This is a result of Emergency Physicians’ decreasing interest in purchasing such reprints. Many ED groups obtain copies of the articles and distribute them to members of the group, and all of the articles are now available on the web, often at no cost.

Access the articles on the web: Copyright restrictions prevent EMedHome.com from reproducing the actual articles on our website. However, all of the LLSA articles are available on-line and the EMedHome.com LLSA CME Program provides links to websites where the LLSA articles may be downloaded at no cost (we cannot be responsible for difficulties with links on third party websites).
